Within our latest update: Instagram reels, performance insight of published IGTVs, automatic selection of post types when creating content, carousel pins and their re-sync in the calendar.

New post type for Instagram: Reels

Another post type is now available for Instagram posts: Reels. You can find this as usual in the Instagram post editor, above the WYSIWYG editor.

Automatically adjust post type after asset addition

If you create a content and add an asset from DAM to it, the post type will be changed automatically depending on the type of asset. This means that if you add a video to a Facebook status post, the post type will automatically change from status post to video post. Similarly, if the asset is a photo, the type changes to image post.

This behavior applies to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

New post type for Pinterest: Carousel pin

Do you run a Pinterest business account? Then you can now enjoy a new post type: the carousel pin. This allows you to publish multiple images (maximum 5 in the same aspect ratio, 1:1 or 2:3) in one pin. You can find the new post type above the post editor. Note: This post type is only available for Pinterest business accounts and not for private accounts.

Automatic re-sync of carousel pins

Carousel posts natively published on Pinterest by you or your colleagues will now automatically appear in the editorial calendar. There you may add strategic information to them afterwards.

Templates for content

For selected campaigns or topics, often content is created that is similar or almost identical in structure, but for reasons of clarity is not created as crossposts of one single story. To better support you in creating such content, we have introduced templates with this update.

Templates can represent any content type you need in the course of your campaign.

During content creation, the desired template can be selected in the "Template" field, and all of the template's default settings will be applied to the new content. This includes not only the specific post type and text in the post editor, but also all strategic information.

Note: Since templates always refer to a specific content type, the template field appears only after a content type has been selected.

To use templates, they must first be created. Proceed as follows:

  1. Create new content

  2. Enter clear (working) title

  3. Select desired content type and post type

  4. Fill in strategic information

  5. Add content to post editor, e.g. text blocks or hashtags

  6. Set status to "Template

  7. Save template

Once the template is saved, you can use it for the appropriate content type. All created templates can be found in the Content module in the "Drafts & Templates" section (in each of the four views). Here they can be viewed and edited if necessary.

Tip: To get only templates listed in the Drafts & Templates section, use the Status option in the filter and set it to Template.

IGTV data in the analytics module

In the analytics module of dirico, you can now get performance data on your published IGTV content. You can find the data in the performance dashboard after you have selected Instagram in the platform switcher.

We can only fetch IGTV data if you enabled the "Post to feed" switcher before publishing IGTVs via dirico.

For shared library users: sharing cross-posts with other teams

One final improvement we've made with this update is to expand the sharing features around the shared library: in order to include cross-posts.

In the content detail view, you can now easily share cross-posts with other teams by clicking on the three-dot menu next to a cross-post.

The ability to share cross-posts is also available in the Kanban view, the compact list, in the modal of the cross-post, or directly from the calendar (each with a click on the three-dot menu).

A little tip: When updating, you may encounter problems with old files from time to time. If this is the case, it helps to empty the cache in the browser.
